2011 Here I Come

First Monday, New Year…
Happy (and I truly hope it is…) New Year for everyone… I hope your resolutions are easy, I’d hate to think that dear friends (and others) would start off with impossible goals when high minded “nearly” impossible usually suffice.
I will hope for the month just gone by, that your family was as easy to visit as mine, and that you were an easier guest than I usually am.
Sure I have (and tell) my stories, (just try and stop me…) And sure, I talk more than I listen, and eat/drink more than I (anyone) should…, but that’s the me that ALWAYS shows up. No… what I’m talking about is how I am always and continually (and redundantly) amused (when I head back home) as to how quickly and how much of our (read: my) youth is recaptured, (or is it more proper to say that we/I are so quickly recaptured by it?)
Now I, (since I’m writing this) am truly lucky to be able to visit the same street, the same house, and many of the same people that I knew growing up. And yet the last thing I seem to feel when I am around this group is “grown up…” Maybe that’s why it’s so true that I didn’t write a ton of comedy in the holiday filled month of December, or plan the next year of blogs, my next show, or even balance my checkbook, (which some months could be quite comical…) but I sure did get to fill up the brain in a restful, recharging way that I feel (or is that “hope”) will bring levity in the upcoming happy and funny new year. So here’s to a slower (didn’t the last year go by fast?) funnier, and even MORE enjoyable (don’t forget those roses smell good) new year to all.
