The wonderful-trouble with a blog, (or my blog at least to not be so general…) is thinking you (or in this case I) have anything to say, and yet every couple of weeks, having a place you’re supposed to say it. Sometimes I think of a bunch of stuff to put here… (I’d call it “comedy stuff” but that has so far stretched the bounds of too many audiences disagreeing…) But originally, I had several thoughts when I started this blog, and one of those thoughts was that my blog space would be an outlet, or a “place” to try (or maybe that is “put”) stuff, that are just the amusements that pass my way. So that’s gonna be this week… No great epiphanies since last blog, no great hints of how, or anything that might add to someone’s knowledge… but life still tosses amusements my way, and like it or not, I write some of them down… (OK, most ALL of them down…)
A few years ago, I was a character known as the “West Coast Wise Guy” on an afternoon radio show out of the east coast… I’d forgotten how much fun it was just to prepare bits, and say them to the easy softball pitch set-ups those wonderful talk show hosts threw to me 3 days a week… Sure, it was only for a few months, as I think the station was sold, but for a little time, it was so much fun, one of the best kinds of stresses I’ve ever had. So with that in mind, now and again I’ll throw in a (hopeful) comedy thought… kinda like last month, when I walked in and bought some (surprisingly good) coffee at a place called Lucky Donut. While I was there, a guy in front of me bought and ate 4 apple fritters… and I’m thinking “So maybe that’s why it’s named Lucky Donut, ‘cause of how lucky guys like this are that their heart don't explode…”
And later that week, I'm home and I heard a Sonic boom. I found out I live in a good neighborhood. When you hear a sonic boom, in a good neighborhood, people run outside to see what happened..., in a bad neighborhood they run inside...
Enjoy the Month of March!
